This morning on the way to work I passed a church and their motto on their sign was “Loving people on purpose”. I couldn’t help but think what a better world this would be if we all practiced that. Far too many walk around in their grumpy moods taking their frustrations out on anyone who comes into their paths. Many churches would have to offer more worship services and expand their buildings in order to accommodate all who would pass through their doors and take up residence if they just practiced loving people more. I know I plan to visit the church that loves people on purpose.
I can’t tell you how many people have told me that they don’t attend church anymore because of gossip, clicks and being made to feel like an outcast in the Lord’s house. As Christians we are the ‘church’ and we should be exhibiting the fruits of the Spirit, the greatest of which is love. I would like to challenge you to love people on purpose; not only in your churches but out in public. Let the light of love from the Holy Spirit living within you shine through you and make someone’s day, today and every day.
you have a real good point here. But when you deal with the people with in the churches and from the public they all use and abuse you. People find it hard to trust in any one. I myself think that there are good people out there and when I do in the long stretch that good one always lets me down I find that there is a way they are using me. Do you have friends? Are you 100% true to them, do you do them as you would want to be done or do you just do them how ever? Is it a Holy Spirit of light shining from you to them to make them feel like they have a purpose? If not I would say you need to correct it. People can talk it but do they show it and do they live it.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, This is Alecia. Romans 3:23 tells us that we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. We are human and we all are let down and disappointed by others just as we all will disappoint and let others down. I do put forth a great deal of effort to always do the right thing and treat others as I would want to be treated. However, there is only One who will never let us down or disappoint us. I do have friends and I am sure that I have in the past and will in the future disappoint them and let them down just as they will me. That is where forgiveness must take place b/c I love them. I hope and pray it is the light of the Holy Spirit shining from me to let them KNOW they were created for a purpose.
